Quality Protein tells the story of the twin girls Meoru and Odi, who believe that they believe in a perfectly safe “house.” Having relied on their mother’s words as the sole source of information all their lives, the twins perceive their home as the perfect space. However, when their mother goes out on an errand, strangers such as the gas inspector and repairman enter the twins’ home. The twins gradually lose their faith in their home and begin to grow suspicious of something. Yeonju Kim focuses on studying and dramatizing the absurd phenomena in society. Through this work, Kim challenges the audience’s perception of what they had taken for granted and discusses the lives and growth of women in society.
