Meet a new immersive theater, The Solitary Gourmets of Gyeongseong. The creative duo behind The Golden Chaos Club, director Taehyung Kim and playwright Haerim Park, reunite at Doosan Art Center.

Set in 1930s Gyeongseong, this show focuses on the mysterious events unfolding in a modern coffee house. After six years of studying abroad in Japan, ‘modern boy’ Jung Hae-un is drawn to ‘Aina’, the charming yet mysterious owner of the dessert café Akashi. By exploring eleven different spaces from Hae-un’s point of view, audiences will encounter the subtle clues and abundant rumors surrounding Aina. The more they see, the more chances they get to uncover her true identity.

The Solitary Gourmets of Gyeongseong leads audiences to confront conflict and make choices, achieving true ‘immersion’ within the performance. When the play begins, we are in Gyeongseong during the Japanese colonial period. What do you choose between your own comfort and public values? What would be your answer, if you were really in that era? The question is profound, and the answer depends.
