DAC Artist Hyejung Jin’s plays focus on the lives of those who are forced to live on the fringes of society, those whose voices are silenced. Love and Information is a play written by the British playwright Caryl Churchill in 2012. The work consists of 7 fixed sections, each made up of multiple 2–5 minute scenes. The additional “random” section consists of scenes which may be implemented anywhere within the story. More than 100 characters appear in the play. This design effectively reflects the landscape of humanity existing in a world with an uncontrollable influx of information. Although 10 years have passed since the play was first written, its genderless characters and lack of designated speakers effectively convey contemplations on contemporary times, love, science, and language through everyday speech. Hyejung Jin effectively directs a puzzle-like production covering the various incidents and symptoms that exist in the era of information and raises questions about changes in human perception and relationships.
