The DAC Artist Yoon Sungho is a playwright and a director who focuses on the paradoxical elements of relationships and injustices of the contemporary era. Through ordinary stories that everyone can relate to, Yoon meticulously weaves a tale of marginalization and anxiety with his own unique language. Not a Dream Play is an adaptation of A Dream Play written in 1901 by the Swedish playwright August Strindberg. The stories in A Dream Play traverse through time and space without distinct causality, much like a dream. Over a 100 years later, these stories still resemble our current struggles against the challenging and unjust reality. As Yoon has done in his previous work The Lonely, The Tired, The Sad inspired by Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya, he closely examines the realities of our lives today through this work.
