Lee Yeonjoo, the winner of the 8th DOOSAN Artist Award will present her latest work. Lee focuses on the stories of the socially marginalized, including the disabled, LGBTQ individuals, and workers engaging in emotional labor. Lee gives a voice to those who have their voices taken away from them or never had it to begin with. Lee challenges her audience by highlighting the duality of Korean society that does not accept “Difference”, and how such rejection has affected individuals. Her plays include The Phone is Ringing, Censuring the Minority, and Sampoong Department Store.
