Information

Kim Heeyoung is a young Korean singer who sings and explores folk songs from Korean traditional vocal music. In Gyeonggisori, the old expression ‘Bell throat’ indicates a “good clear sound as if there is a bell in the throat”. Singers
of Korean traditional music have always desired and still constantly strive to refine their vocal sound to have a ‘bell throat’. ‹Bang-wol-mok Project› is a homage to the famous recognized Korean folk songs that exist today or have been lost in the past. Through this work, Kim explores the meaning of tradition and searches for new ways to pass down the traditional sounds.
