The Pillowman is a play by Martin McDonagh, who is widely acclaimed to the point of being hailed as the Shakespeare of our time. In a new format tailored for a small theater, this play was once again placed in the limelight through the 2012 adaptation, which was staged at Space111. The Pillowman depicts the story of the fiction writer Katurian, who is interrogated along with his older brother Michal, about the gruesome content of his short stories and their similarities to a series of bizarre murders occurring in his town. This process reveals the hidden side of Katurian’s works, as well as the truth of the brothers’ childhood and the horrific murders of the present.
