I Am My Own Wife was first presented in “Doosan Humanities Theater Series 2013: Big History.” This monodrama, featuring one person in 35 roles, deals with the story of a real-life character, the male-tofemale transvestite “Charlotte von Mahlsdorf.” The play portrays one individual’s periodical and individual distinctiveness and historicity in a true to life manner. Artist Yeo Sin-dong, supported by the Doosan Art Center Artist Incubating Program, participates as art director for this play, which was nominated for “This Year’s Best 3 of Theater” by the Korea Theater Critics Association in 2013.
