Cheon Myeong-gwan’s novel of the same title is the original text of Marisa the Cheerful Maid. Premiering in 2013, this was the first play that the author dramatized firsthand. The black comedy is remarkable with regard to standout nature of Cheon’s uniquely strong individuality, extraordinary imagination, and speedy development. Artist Yeo Sin-dong, who is supported by the Doosan Art Center Incubating Program, participates as a stage designer.
