‘One ordinary day, an extraordinary time-slip journey begins.’
It’s 1969: the year of the Moon landing.
On the night Apollo 11 launches, a young man Namwon looks up to the sky as the full moon grows extremely large.
Shocked, Namwon faints. When he wakes, a brand new world awaits him. It’s 2020 now, and he is seventy.
The musical Let me fly takes us on a kaleidoscopic journey through time.
As Namwon attempts to return to 1969, his odyssey is imbued with the dreams and hopes, joys and frustrations of his past, present, and future lives.
Through its successful world premiere, original Korean musical Let me fly was nominated for six categories at the 2023 Korea Musical Awards, and won Best Musical, Best Music, and Best New Actor. It earned six nominations for next year’s Korea Musical Awards, and proved its audience appeal with a remarkable 9.8/10 rating.
The production has successfully expanded its international reach to Taiwan (2024 Original Cast Tour and replica productions), Hong Kong (part of Festive Korea 2025 at Hong Kong City Hall), and made its U.S. debut at the 2025 K-Musical Roadshow (NYC, Open Jar Studios).
In 2026, Let me fly finally arrives at the DOOSAN ART CENTER.
This heart-warming musical celebrates the beautiful simplicity of ordinary days and the importance of those who stay by our side, using a time-slip journey that mirrors our own lives.
It is a piece that will be remembered with warmth by all, transcending age and background.
