‘Observation, Camera, and the Episodes Left Behind’
Observation, Camera, and the Episodes Left Behind is a play inspired by the playwright’s three years of experience as a variety show producer. It follows Seohyun, a ten-year veteran stand camera director, and newcomer crew Minyoung, and is set in the home of a famous celebrity, the filming location of a reality show. The Stand Camera Director is a new role that emerged with the rise of observation reality shows. They are the busiest during pre-production but often inactive once filming starts. By featuring these directors, the playwright observes the sense of “seeing via a camera lens” and “working with machines”.
YOON JUHO
YOON JUHO’s plays frequently explore technology. He investigates technology rooted in reality rather than conceptual, such as AI, databases, and ICT. He views technology as the format through which we perceive the world and by which the world structures us. He achieved a remarkable debut by winning the 2025 New Year’s Literary Contests from two major newspapers: Merry Go Round (Busan Ilbo) and Mistake I Did Not (DongA Ilbo).
