‘Waiting for Total Eclipse’
Waiting for Total Eclipse starts from the question, “Why do we gather in a theater?” When the play starts, we all assemble and wait 60 minutes for a total eclipse to begin. The last total eclipse in this region occurred 375 years ago; it will be a rare, oncein-a-lifetime moment. What do we wish upon as we gather in the theater? What will we become after witnessing what we have longed for? Will we scatter, transformed into something else? Waiting for Total Eclipse focuses on the “time of anticipation” itself, not the long-awaited object. Passing beyond theaters that consume events, we will meet through our accidental gestures, to be a loose and temporary community.

The collective ummeeeonn sees the theater as a temporary, multiple network of relations. By violating or citing the preempted gestures of things, they forge Sym-poiesis to create a speculative urban community. ummeeeonn explores how various forms of relation inscribe aesthetic and political time onto the urban landscape.
