LIZZIE is a musical based on the true story of the ‘Lizzie Borden murders,’ an as-yet unsolved murder mystery. The Borden family lived in the small town of Fall River in Massachusetts, USA. One stuffy summer day in August 1892, the rich and famously miserly businessman Andrew Borden and his wife Abby are discovered in their home, brutally murdered by a hatchet. The police arrest the younger daughter, Lizzie, as a major suspect in the murder of her father and tepmother. Her trial receives unprecedented publicity across the nation, and four women come forward make their testimony: Lizzie, her older sister Emma, Lizzie’s friend Alice, and Bridget the maid. As the trial wears on, hidden truths slowly come to light, and the events undergo twist after twist.
