Our Town is a new work by Lee Jaram, the winner of the 6th DOOSAN Artist Award. She is actively engaged in her artistic endeavors in Korea and abroad. Lee has been consistently developing plays and modern novels into pansori format. Lee’s version of Our Town is an adaptation of Thornton Wilder’s play Our Town, set in the residential area of Sanwol-dong, Oyang-gu, Seoul in the 1980s. Lee uses her unique voice to provide a clear picture of the lives her characters led in their era. Her tales of ordinary folks around us remind us to look back on the meaning and value of life and death. This piece was developed from her workshop in 2016. Director Park Jihye of the Yangson Project joins Lee in this project.
