Brain control endeavors to comically portray modern society as a play through the personification of a job seeker’s body, mind, and brain. The brain is divided into personifications of its components; for example, ‘Ri (理)’ is characterized as a military commander in charge of judgment, while ‘Ki (記)’ is a lieutenant of the memory system and ‘Jeon (傳)’ is the messenger. The emotions and behavior of the self are forcibly placed under control of these characters. Through the portrayal of modern people as suggestive of a scene of battle, this play suggests that, within modern society that demands only the awakening of the individual, the factor to blame may not be ourselves, but the environment that we find ourselves in.
