Misericordia is a creative musical that exposes the dominance of individualism as the reality of society, through portrayal as a form of fantasy and fairytale. This play won the grand prize from the 2014 Uijeongbu Music Theatre Festival. Doosan Art LAB will provide a platform to develop this work into a fully-fledged piece of performance art upon its initial stage presentation. The word “misericordia” refers to mercy or forgiveness, thereby implying the concept of conscience as the theme of the play. In the play, Tragedy (Miseri) appears as a personified character to talk about those without conscience, amidst the somber beauty of the musical score.
