A story of “learning” and “maturation” for everyone in this era. The History Boys, a representative work of the British playwright Alan Bennett, was first performed at Doosan Art Center in 2013, and will again take the stage at Yonkang Hall in 2014. Reviews of the play’s Korean premiere noted that although it is intellectual and critical, it is also vital, cheerful, and refined. Set in the background of a British public high school in the 1980s, the play examines the relationships between eight students preparing for college entrance exams and their teacher.
